    Fabulous

The hotel was in a great location, however, there were concerns about loiters around the hotels entrance. The staff kept their presence known, and I was not harrased by the loiters. The continental breakfast went above and beyond my expectations! Eggs benedict, cooked fresh to order!

There were some miscommunications about our reservation. At last minute, my travelling companion was unable to come. I called ahead and asked if it would be possible to change a single occupancy, and asked if there was a reduced rate. I was assured that it was no trouble to change, and there was of course a reduced rate. I also again confirmed that my caa rate had been applied to the room, which I was told it was. Upon arrival, I was charged for a double occupancy room, and my caa rate was not applied. Language barriers between myself and the front desk personal made it a frustrating experience, and I ended up receiving a single room for a dual occupancy cost, with no rate applied. I made my concerns known, however there was no follow up.

    Superb

Although the hotel was built in 1912 and is very old, old is not the right word to describe it, it is a piece of history and a very well kept one at that. The hotel staff were great, prompt, and friendly, and the free breakfast was one of the best for the value I have ever had. The room was clean and the in room hot tub was wonderful. Can't tell you about the tv we didn't turn it on, it was our honeymoon....sorry to much info.

Be aware when you book this hotel online that they false advertise their rooms. The pics you see are not the room you book! However! If you make a quick phone call after booking online and confirm your room number you end up getting what you paid for and then some. Call after you book! The hotel although very well kept defiantly has not been updated since the 70's although I was told that the 4th floor has been renovated for the first time in 40 years and they were working their way through the hotel. It was a little dusty but we didn't actually mind as the hotel its self was a work of art. No major complaints other than the dishonest pics online.

    The breakfast was good.

I didn't realize there wasn't a hotel parking lot, we had to pay to park overnight. The room smelt strange and the shower went from hot to cold The breakfast was good in the morning but our server was extremely rude and actually insulted my brother by calling him harry potter.

    Good

We enjoyed the staff at The Marlborough Hotel. The rooms were ok, the area is terrifying....the carpet needs cleaning in the worst way but the staff and housekeeping did well beyond the call of duty in the service dept. I don't know if I would stay there again. It's a very rough neighbourhood but it was comfortable. If I can smell the bleach on the sheets then I'm ok.

    Very good

Right down-town -- central for all my require needs... Lived in St- Boniface fifty years ago, the Marlborough was a premier hotel... But was surprise to see many hotels having security personnel on the premises....

But surprised to see many hotels having security personnel on their property .... The breakfast-dinning area may need some paint, but reminded me of the great era of the marleborough hotel..

    Fabulous

The hotel has a lot of history and character. However it is in need of a facelift and upgrading. good breakfast. Room was good and the beds are comfortable.

There was a problem with the booking as they initially could not give us a suite which was booked and could not guarantee the 2nd and 3rd nights. Once we finally got the suite the pullout was broken. However the manager was able to rectify the situation. Other than the check-in problems everything was fine.

    Very good

the neighboring guests were very noisy till 2:00 am. Also the place is in huge need of maintenance - the shower head was spraying in all directions, the drains were nearly plugged and the water was very slow in draining.

    Fabulous

It is at the heart of the town, so easily accessible. Some neighbourhood could be rough especially late evening. It was a clean, though a bit old structure. But it was a great deal of value for what i paid $82 before tax.

The breakfast was ok, not a buffet type that you can get in places like Malaysia. But it is in a good location with buses to almost every part of Winnipeg

    Architecture and historic appeal.

Heart of downtown Winnipeg is run down with natives meaning your safety is a main concern. They do not provide you parking aside from a parkade across the street which you have to pay for. Furthermore its over ground and your car is unprotected. My car was broken into during my one night stay.

    Good

    Clean, comfortable and good value

We were given the wrong room when we arrived-had to go back down to desk and get it changed. Was not happy with the parking situation. The overnight parking only allows you to pay from 6pm to 6am. This meant that we had to get up at 6am to pay the meter!! Not exactly a user friendly situation.

    Fabulous

    The staff, the breakfast

The hotel is very shabby - nothing has been upgraded eg. Carpets etc. for at least 20 years. If you only want a bed and breakfast, it's good. Otherwise you wouldn't want to stay in the room. There would need to be some serious cash investment done to recarpet, repaint the place to bring it up to a hotel's standards. The place is a heritage building, but quality is a motel.

I didnt like anything about his hotel. Real real bad!

Nasty! Dirty! Old and not well kept! Dog hair all over the carpet. Just disgusting! Old shower and tub. Ac didn't work! Cell phones do not work at this hotel. Real bad signal! I had to check out early and move to another hotel so disappointed I was. I was disgusted!
